Over 600,000 letters pile as postal workers strike

Sri_Lanka_Post_logoPostal Services Combined Trade Union Front says that there is a serious back log of mail with more than 600,000 letters waiting to be distributed at the Colombo Central Exchange as a result of the trade union action the postal employees have launched.

The postal employees began the trade union action on Sunday night with several demands including the restoration of overtime bonus payments.

Front convener Chintaka Bandara told our news team that at this stage the demands had not been met in an acceptable manner.
