The Central Bank has approved the appointment of Ananda Athukorala as a director of the National Development Bank (NDB) and to succeed N.G. Wickremeratne as the bank chairman. Customs exceeds revenue target for the first five months

Sri Lanka Customs has been able to exceed its targeted revenue for the first five months of this year. According to the Director General Chulananda Perera, the Customs had targeted revenue of Rs 322 billion, for the first five months of this year. However, the Department was able to earn a revenue of Rs.326 billion rupees by the end of last month, the official disclosed. ‘No hike in telephone charges despite VAT’
