Mihin Lanka transition improperly registered– Prosecution

Company Registrar General Nihal Ranjan Siriwardene yesterday (11), said while perusing the documents it had been clear that the registration of Mihin Lanka Private Limited had not been carried out in a proper manner.

He made this comment while giving evidence before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) which has been formed to probe corruption that had taken place at the SriLankan Airlines, the SriLankan Catering, and Mihin Lanka Private Limited.

Leading evidence before the PCoI, Deputy Solicitor General Neil Unnambuwa said that based on evidence given by Siriwardene, Mihin Lanka Private Limited had changed its name to Mihin Lanka Limited and that approval for the name change had not been sought from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Unnambuwa told the PCol that the Company registration certificate had also not been issued to Mihin Lanka Limited.

He said that hence there could be issues related to the legality of the Director Board of the firm.
