Army deploys 25 units for Dengue eradication

The Army has deployed 25 units to take part in dengue eradication programmes in Colombo and its suburbs.

These units will include 200 soldiers, 25 Policemen and 25 PHIs. This initiative which commenced on 1 July will continue till 8 July. The Army has also established two temporary wards at Negombo Hospital for dengue patients.

This step was taken after the President conducted an observation visit to the Negombo Hospital and identified that there were not enough space for residential dengue patients.
