Director Kabir Khan’s 2012 action-adventure film Ek Tha Tiger made box office history. It was the first time that Salman and Kabir came together, a jodi which will go on to give us Bajrangi Bhaijaan and the upcoming Tubelight. It was also the hit jodi of Katrina Kaif and Salman that worked wonders on the box office.
The movie went on to become one of the highest grossing movies that year. Since then the duo didn’t appear together on screen followed by their unfortunate break up. But now their fans will have a reason to rejoice as they might see Salman and Katrina in the sequel of Ek Tha Tiger, which is tentatively titled as Tiger Zinda Hai. The movie will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar under Yash Raj banner.
According to the industry grapevine, director Ali Abbas Zafar, who is very good friends with Katrina Kaif, had expressed his desire to work with the actress but couldn’t come up with a good idea to work on together. But since the Ali has replaced Kabir Khan, Katrina might come on board and share screen with Salman after four long years. The sequel will pick up from where the first part ended.
And it’s not only Ali but Katrina is also eager to work with him and reunite with Salman once again on screen. BollywoodLife.com quoted a source saying, “Ali (Abbas Zafar) and Katrina are really good friends and they get along very well. Katrina wanted to work with him again since a while now. So Tiger Zinda Hai is the perfect opportunity for them to collaborate with each other. In fact, there are high chances that Katrina will sign on the dotted line after coming back (Katrina is currently in USA for the Dream Team Tour).”
The Sultan director also revealed that his Meri Brother Ki Dulhan star is not only his good friends but they also share a strong connection altogether. “Yes I would definitely love to do a film with Katrina without a doubt not because she is my friend because I just feel that at least when I made a film with her, she and I kind of connected at a different level and that connection went into the audience. Lot of people liked Katrina in Mere Brother ki Dulhan,” he said.
