Prime Minister Temporarily Holds Purchase Of Vehicles For Ministers

CarServiceThe Prime Minister has ordered that the allocation of funds for ministers vehicles to not go ahead until funds are allocated for the re-construction of houses that were totally damaged , and compensation for houses partially damaged in the Kosgama – Saalaava army camp explosion .

Reports say that Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe issued this order to the Treasury yesterday.

Accordingly the Prime Minister had ordered not to release the funds which were allocated through a supplementary estimate for import of vehicles for Ministers, until funds for the construction of houses damaged totally and for the provision of compensation for houses damaged partially in the Kosgama – Saalaava explosion are estimated and allocated.

Government spokesman said that the Prime Minister had taken this decision on the Good Governance Government’s principle that Relief should be provided to the people first.
