Rs. 1,175 million sought for ministers’ vehicles
A supplementary estimate seeks Rs. 1,175 million to buy 32 vehicles for 30 ministers, state ministers and deputy ministers.
Chief government whip Gayantha Karunatilake submitted the estimate to parliament on Tuesday (07) on behalf of the finance minister.
The highest estimate of Rs. 70 million is to buy a vehicle for Sarath Fonseka.
Certain ministers have sought two vehicles for each of them.
The other requests are – Rs. 70 million for minister Chandima Weerakkody and deputy minister Anoma Gamage, Rs. 99 million for minister Vajira Abeywardena and deputy minister Nimal Lansa, Rs. 50 million for two vehicles for minister Mahinda Samarasinghe, Rs. 56 million for deputy minister Lasantha Alagiyawanne, Rs. 56 million for deputy minister Arundika Fernando, Rs. 63 million for minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa and deputy minister Dunesh Gankanda, Rs. 28 million for deputy minister Manusha Nanayakkara, Rs. 35 million to buy two vehicles for state minister Sujeewa Senasinghe, Rs. 35 million for minister Rauff Hakeem, Rs. 28 million for deputy minister Indika Bandaranayake, Rs. 35 million for state minister Champika Premadasa, Rs. 35 million for minister Sarath Amunugama, Rs. 27 million for deputy minister Susantha punchinilame, Rs. 35 million for state minister T.B. Ekanayake, Rs. 70 million for minister Gamini Jayawickrama Perera and deputy minister Sumedha G. Jayasena, Rs. 35 million for minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Rs. 35 million for minister P. Digambaran, Rs. 35 million for state minister Wasantha Senanayake, Rs. 70 million for minister Wijayadasa Rajapakse and deputy minister Ddushmanth Mitrapala, Rs. 70 million for minister D.M. Swaminathan and deputy minister Priyankara Jayaratne, and Rs. 35 million for minister Vijitha Vijayamuni Soyza.
