Lankans in Panama Papers to be exposed at the weekend?

Sri Lankans named in the Panama Papers are likely to be exposed at the weekend, says the Anti Corruption Front.

At a media briefing in Colombo yesterday (07), ACF consultant Rajith Keerthi Tennakoon said three Sri Lankan firms and 22 individuals have been listed by Panama Papers.

He said that local businessmen had most likely used names of their relatives to engage in the shady financial dealings exposed by Panama Papers.

Anyway, Sri Lanka stands to lose the public money abused in these instances due to the absence of a relevant legal mechanism, he said.

Meanwhile, according to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror, weekend newspapers could reveal identities of the Sri Lankans involved.
